Empowering Minority-Owned Enterprises: Financial Support for Community Outreach

Boosting Community Health through Grassroots Investments

At JIREH Providers, we believe in the power of community – through local action to transform health outcomes. We are dedicated to providing financial support to minority-owned grassroots and microenterprise organizations in SouthEast San Diego, fostering their potential to create impactful change.

The Challenge

Minority-owned businesses are a vital part of our communities, yet they often face significant barriers to funding. According to a 2020 report, only 12% of Black and Latino business owners who applied for support from national banks received the funding they requested. Moreover, these organizations are uniquely positioned to address issues we face concerning health equity, but lack the necessary resources. This is particularly pressing considering that 40% of Black and 33% of Latino Californians live in health equity zones deemed “medical deserts” and have insufficient access to healthy food, housing, and economic opportunities.

Our Response

JIREH Providers is dedicated to reversing this trend by partnering with authentic grassroots organizations & providing targeted funding to minority-owned grassroots and microenterprise organizations. These organizations play a crucial role in community outreach, education, and enrollment in health programs. By investing in them, we are helping to build a more robust, inclusive, and health-focused community.

Our Impact

With our support, these grassroots organizations are able to reach underserved communities more effectively, providing critical health education and services. They’re pioneering local solutions to local problems, from nutrition education in areas with low access to healthy food, to outreach initiatives that tackle health conditions disproportionately impacting communities of color.

How You Can Help

Your support can make a world of difference to these enterprises and the communities they serve. Contributions to our targeted funding initiative can help these organizations flourish, increasing their capacity to promote health and wellbeing in SouthEast San Diego. Let’s invest in our communities and achieve the future we desire, together.
